Food: Another rag to rich story in the food business. Once a mere mobile stall of the neighborhood, On Lee nowadays not only have a standing outlet, but also a loyal crowd of regulars for its deep fried fish cutlets (slices) and fish balls. Their signature dish, flat rice noodles with fish balls and deep fried fish cake cutlets, draws fish ball lovers like magnet (clichéd but true). The deep fried fish cake cutlets are masterly cut in triangular instead of rectangular shape – a gracious endeavor for all the cutlet connoisseurs. Munch it, the strong flavor of fish floods in your mouth and the feeling of bounciness takes an eternality to subside.
Then there is the braised flat noodles with beef brisket, the flat noodles is braised with delicious soy sauce and teamed up with the long stewed beef brisket in chu hau sauce, a great showcase of the chef’s mastery of an otherwise typical dish.
